PAP-Newly Acquired Auto question

Is coverage provided to a "newly acquired auto" when owner asks for coverage OR when they become the owner? Does the owner need to notify insurer 14 days prior to becoming the owner for insurance to attach or does it attach when insured becomes the owner OR when he asks for coverage? Manual is confusing. Please clarify.

It depends on if the vehicle is a replacement vehicle or if it is "in addition to" current vehicles.  It also depends on the coverage.

A “newly acquired auto” is defined as a vehicle you have become the owner of
during the policy period.  Coverage for a “Newly acquired auto” depends on whether the newly acquired vehicle replaces a vehicle (a replacement vehicle) on the Dec page or if it is in addition to a vehicle on the Dec page.

A Replacement Vehicle - If a newly acquired vehicle replaces a vehicle on the Dec page that
has full coverage, then the new vehicle has full coverage for the remainder of
the policy.

In addition to - If a newly acquired vehicle is in additional to the vehicle(s) on
the Dec page, coverage on the current policy has a time limit - Full coverage for 14 days; Liability for 14 days and Part D-Physical Damage coverage for 4 days

Jan, when you say "full coverage" for 14 days, what does that mean? Is that PIP/No fault or something else?
