State Exam

HI, guys!

SO I ENDED UP PASSING THE STATE EXAM EITH EXTRA POINTS TO SPARE. I WAS EXAUSTED AND READY TO GET IT OVER WITH. ONE AWESOME ADVICE I WILL GIVE TO EVERYONE IS TO NOT GIVE UP AND.... IF YOU FAIL, CALL PEARSON VUE AND SCHEDULE A REVIEW OF YOUR TEST ASAP. GRAB A WRITING PAD and KEEP IT IN THE LOCKER WHEN THEY TELL YOU TO PUT YOUR THINGS AWAY. YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT GO AND WRITE ANY OF YOUR INCORRECTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS FROM THE TEST DOWN, IT'S ALL ON YOU AND YOUR MEMORY. REMEMBER AS MANY INCORRECTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS AS YOU CAN, ONCE YOU LEAVE THE REVIEW, WRITE THEM DOWN AND STUDY THEM UP. THAT IS WHAT HELPED ME TO PASS. I WOULD SAY 60% OF YOUR QUESTIONS WILL GET REPEATED, BUT SOME WON'T. SO JUST KEEP BEATING THE BEAST UNTIL THE BEAST GIVES IN. :)

You have 5 attempts in ONE year, so don't give up, just study up again and keep go schedule the next exam as soon as possible. I wish someone would have told me about the review, I might have saved myself a few sleepless nights and would have probably passed it on the second attempt. The exam is NOT easy. You will be SO surprised to see some questions and will probably say 'I've never seen this before', but don't worry, if I did it, you can too. And English is not even my first language. Russian is. Good luck !!!

I really appreciate your advise, I'm getting ready to take the test soon and I'm really nervous hehehe but at least I know I have a couple of chances, specially now that I know that it's ok to fail the first time. Thank you very much for the advise.

You're welcome Freddy,

Remember, everyone fails. I know a guy who failed 5 times, but then he passed and English is his first language. Make sure, if you do fail the first time, do not get discouraged, call Person Vue and tell them you want to do a review. It's FREE! Don't give up, just tell yourself it was just another trial. I went in with an attitude  that my first try is just that- a try, an attempt, this way you know what to expect. They offer you ear plugs and headphones to eliminate the noise. Do the review and schedule another attempt right away. It's $42 each attempt. You can do this. Don't give up.

Dear Jan,

I wouldn't have done this without your help. You were always there for me, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I actually was advised by now my partner/employer/mentor after failing the first attempt to pass  the 220 exam, to take the 20-44 exam instead so I could start training and contracting auto insurances right away. He's busy and really needed my help. Plus, since my husband works as a Finance Manager at a private car dealership, he's referring a lot of customers to me. The agency represents 6 different insurance companies, so this is working out perfect for us. The agent is an older gentleman who wants to retire soon and I will be working with him until he does so. I will pursue my 220 license very soon. Just needed a little break after all that studying and retaking the exam. I passed 20-44 on the second attempt. I still have 4 attempts with 220 for this year :) I am super excited and cannot thank you enough for ALL your support, Jan!!!

Hello Joana, just curious, is it all multiple choice or there's some writing that has to be done????

Freddy,

It's multiple answers. No writing and no answers like A and B, or All of the above. None of that! Just 4 different answers that you have to choose from. They also give you a writing pad with a marker and a calculator, so you can calculate numbers if you have to. Like the formula for Loss x Limit calculations. Know your FL statues, like what can the agent do and cannot do. These woll come up over and over again. Like legal rebating and agent's legal scope of practice. I did really good on terminology, like what is Twisting and Churning means or Sliding. Get these right because they will come up over and over again.

You can call me if you have any questions at 561-235-4334 if I don't pick up, text me first. I'd be glad to answer any questions.

Freddy and all students,

Joana is providing good advise for the final exam, but remember that each student's test is different on the state exam.  Some students may not have multiple questions on a topic while other students may have one or possibly no questions on that topic.

My advice is to be prepared by studying all of the material in the online course and state manual.

Best of luck!

Jan
