State Exam Information

Hi Students, The state exam has recently increased the number of questions on Florida Statutes. Approximately 25% of the state exam questions come from the Florida Statutes. In the past these questions involve definitions and dates, i.e. "how many days do you have to change your address if you move?" These types of questions are still on the state exam. New to the 2-20 exam - Please pay extra attention to the statutes on Customer Service Reps and Commission Sharing. These have not been heavily tested in the past. You do not have to memorize or know details, but you should know the overall intent of the statutes. I've listed the statutes that have been brought to my attention: 626.7351 – page 235 626.7352 – page 236 69B-213.040 – page 257 69B-213.130 – page 258 626.753 – page 240 (commission sharing) You do not have to go into detail. Just understand the purpose/meaning of the statutes. Several students have told me they have questions relating to these statutes on their state exam. Unit 17 in the course will be revised to emphasize these questions, but I wanted the students who are at the end of the course to also benefit from this information. Good Luck with the state exam and, as always, let me know if you have any questions. Jan Bradburn 2-20 Course Instructor bradburn@oltraining.com

I passed the test today with a 78%.  50 questions on Fl Statutes = 1/3 of the test. Many questions on Workers Comp.+ All the other questions you would expect. Test questions were simply written.  I did well on Auto, Home and Dwelling. I had my lowest score on Casualty terms and concepts. My tip would be know definitions and terms. The questions you would expect on ethics were simple. Very little math work. Jan - Thank you Jan for help. Cam Carlin.

I have a colleague that does life health. He let me borrow his book which was much clearer on the statutes than the General Lines Agent Manual. Specifically, the 29th edition of Life, Health & Variable Contracts Florida Study Manual Part 4 Unit 26. This really helped increase my score on the State Exam.
