I'm in final prep for the state test. At this point all I am studying is the manual. I'v heard that it is important to have a full understanding of everything but make sure you know Auto & Property.  Are the questions in the test 100% detail? Do we need to know the different sections of the policies by the letter? Symbols numbers? How much time to spend on the Statues?

Hi Jon, It's true that there are a lot of auto and property questions. I'm also hearing that 10-20% of the exam is on Florida Statutes. It sounds strange, but students have recently told me the statutes question focus on Customer Representative duties and limitations. The test changes based on what's happening in Personal Lines Insurance in the state so there may be some concerns with agents allowing service reps to have too much authority??? and the state feels they need to test on this. I'm not sure about this but is the only reason I can think of for service rep questions on an agent exam. I have had students point out the following statutes as potential test questions: 626.7351 - page 235 626.7352 and 626.7354 - page 236 626.753 - page 240 69B-213.040 - page 257 69B-213.130 - page 258 There may also be test questions on statute definitions (churning, rebating, domestic-foreign-alien, etc.) and on dates (length of time to change your address, etc.) I wouldn't worry too much about symbols - you may have one question but not likely. You should know the policy sections by letter, but the question usually refers to both the name and the letter, i.e.Coverage A-Dwelling. I hope this helps. Best of luck on the exam! Jan
