Hi Heather, I see that you are registered in the 200 hour Property and Casualty Licensing course.  In order to take the state exam you have to have a certificate of completion for this course.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sandra!

I just started the 2-20 today... I noticed that when the unti quesition is in "fill-in the blank" format requiring two or more words, it does not recognize my responces as "correct" eventhoug I wrote the right words.... I've tried separating the words with a coma to no avail...

I m not sure if the system is expecting me to answer one-word-at-a-time or what...?

Hi John, I will look into that for you. I noticed that your email address at yahoo may have a problem could you edit your profile and check on it so that responses will be emailed to your correct address if you are offline when they are sent? Thank you Sandra King.

Hi John, I have reviewed your work, and in your course most if not all questions in the quizzes are multiple choice like the state exam. The short answer questions are usually found in the lessons which, although they may show the grade, are not included in your final course grade. In the case of short answers in the lessons they are good practice, and usually don't require a comma unless it says so. They are also not usually counted off, no matter what you answer as it can be very frustrating to be counted off for mispellings etc. Instead it is very important to read the correct answer thoroughly to verify for yourself that we chose the same answer as you. I hope this helps, feel free to post any questions here in the forums, everyone is happy to jump in with answer, when we can. Otherwise we leave it for your instructor Jan Bradburn to come in with an answer.

Hello,

I just got an email from the instructor.  In reality, although it is not recomended...

...a student does not have to have a Certificate of Completion to take the state exam.  They only need the certificate for the insurance license.  As of last year (2012), a student can take any state licensing exam at any time.  We currently have a 2-20 student at OLT who has already taken the 2-20 exam, but now she has to complete the course so she can send the state her certificate. Not exactly what I would recommend, but she passed the exam!

So if you are facing a deadline for the state exam, and you feel prepared I guess you could take it right before your deadline.  You would still have to take the rest of the course and earn your certificate of completion before applying for the state license.

Hope this helps.

well, hm. Not sure why she says not recommended. I studied for the test on my own, without a class for about three months. I then took a 4 day crash course where they told me that most likely the state will tell me to take 200 hour class. No one at my work knew that it would be required.  So, it's not like I just went and passed. I studied very hard. Now, I need to complete the course to fulfill state requirements.

I have applied to take the exam and received this message"

The following is a list of deficiencies for your application. Disregard deficiencies that you have already satisfied.
  • Deficiency # 1 - You must submit a certificate of completion for the prelicensing course from an approved provider. This documentation can be emailed to AgentLicensing@MyFloridaCFO.com.

My question is how and when do I receive the certificate of completion so I can forward.  I thought the school would send it but I guess they haven't.

Mildred please call the office at 561-283-0333 or toll free at 866-357-0841 so that they can discuss your course completion details.

They have tried to email you, but for some reason (possibly spam filters or not your current email address) they haven't gotten in touch with you.

They also can't private message you through moodle, because your mesaging is only accepting messages from contacts.

I should be happy that I passed the course, then. :-) I only took it to prepare for the exam, not realizing I actually needed it to get my license. I also took a crash course the past two weekends and did great! However, I did that because there was a live teacher with whom I could interact and ask questions. I wouldn't think the class provides credit for anything other than the knowledge acquired by taking it.
