Navigation Confusion

Navigation Confusion

I am on Unit 4 of my course and there are 23 pages to Unit 4.   The manual is not broken up into lessons per unit yet it is difficult to understand what must be read for each lesson.  I am reading the entire (23) pages before I go to lesson 1 of Unit 4.

The only thing is that the Navigation says: Lesson 1 (20 pages), Lesson 2 (17 pages), Lesson 3 (16 pages), Lesson 4 (17 pages).  That's a total of 70 pages.  It's confusing I feel like I'm missing something each time I go to the next Lesson.

I saw this in Unit 3 as well but blew it off, now it's to the point that it's bothering me because I am doubting myself that I may be doing something wrong.

What does the (xx pages) next to each lesson mean?

Hi Mildred,  Thanks for your question.  The number of pages listed with each section tells you the number of pages in that section of the online course.  This gives you a good idea of how much time this section may take before you begin a new topic.  Each student studies and learns differently, but I would suggest using the state study manual and the online course together.  The course follows the lay-out of the state manual with very few exceptions.  If you prefer to use your resources separately, then I would recommend studying the online course unit and following up with the state manual as a reference.  The online course emphasizes important topics with the "end of page" questions and this will help you to know what to focus on in the study manual.

Please let me know if you have other questions about the course or how to use your resources. Best of luck!

Jan,

Does the Study Manual contain a LOT of overkill? Please advise as to your opinion.

Sincerely,

Christian,

Thanks for asking about the materials in the state study manual.  It's good to know exactly what you will accountible for on the state exam.

If you are a 2-20 student, all of the materials in the state manual may be covered on the state exam.  The "overkill" is minimal, if any.  The 20-44 course is only responsible for Personal Lines information, but all of the information in the PL sections may be tested on the state exam.

The state manual is truly your guidebook for the state exams. The more you know and understand, the better you will do on the state test.
