typo's, incorrect information, wrong answers due to grammatical differences

Has anyone noticed how many typographical errors are in this course?  It is making it very difficult for me.

I'm especially annoyed with the section on Coverage A in Homeowners.  We write for many different carriers and not ever is the insured allowed to decide how much Coverage A they want, at least not here in Florida.  It is always based on the RCE.

I'm highly irritated with the fill in questions.  One question will read like this:

The minimum all other perils deductible is $_____ and for Hurricane is $___

If I answer $500, $500 it will mark it wrong on one question and if I answer it 500, 500 it will mark it right.

It's very inconsistent and really needs to be edited for easier learning.  We are in a business where a typographical error can result in the agency you work for getting a claim filed against them for errors and omissions or worse, having an insured being denied a claim.   I would think that the curriculum developers of this course would strive for perfection in these educational courses.

Sorry, just beyond frustrated!  :(

Hi Susan,

The lesson questions are “practice-only” questions and they are not graded.  Once you fill-in-the-blanks, the system should prompt you to “check you answer” against the correct answer.  These questions are not supposed to be marked correct or incorrect so it really doesn’t matter if you enter a few words or an entire sentence.  The idea is to see if your answer matches the answer from the course.   If you feel you have answered correctly, please move on through the course.  Only the unit and final exams count toward your grade and these exams are multiple-choice so you won’t experience this issue on the questions that are graded.

You don't mention which insurance course you're taking.  Please let me know and I'll be happy to look into any typo/grammatical errors you find.  I'm not seeing the error in the example you sent. The minimum "all other perils" deductible is ---and for hurricanes is---. How would you like to see this worded?  Again, please let me know your course and I'll look into this.

Thanks, Jan

I'm taking the 440-220 conversion course.  I don't have the time or energy to edit every typographical error in this course, but trust me there are many errors.  When I complete the course and pass my state exam, I would be happy to review the entire course for OLT.  I know other people who have take this course that are equally frustrated.
