Hi Jan,
I have a question regarding uninsured motorist coverage on a PAP. My question has come up in the workplace, and I am stumped.
I work for a captive insurance agency. The insurance company we write through mandates stacked uninsured motorist coverage on single car auto policies. I have reviewed the course material and cannot come up with a reason this would be forced, other than to protect against a potential E&O claim should the insured add a second car later, and the representative processing the car add-on failed to bring up the hypothetical non-stacked form. Somebody once told me (and I disagree with) that coverage would be double when an insured occupies a non-owned vehicle.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
