John and his wife, Mary, have a PAP with John being the named insured. John moved out of their house 120 days ago in contemplation of divorce. During this period of separation, Mary normally drives a Buick insured under John's PAP. Which of the following claims could be covered by John's PAP?
Select one:
A. Mary borrows her sister's pickup truck to move furniture, and has an at-fault accident
B. Mary borrows her brother's pickup to move furniture, and has an at-fault accident
C. All of the answers are correct
D. Mary lets her unlicensed brother borrow the covered Buick, and he has an at-fault accident Correct

can someone please explain how in the world this is the correct answer?  Allowing an unlicensed driver is an illegal act, why would this be covered?

Kevin,

Insurance is personal and it follows the vehicle.  It doesn't matter who is driving, John and his vehicle are the insured. If John - or his vehicle - cause a loss, John is liable and his insurance will pay as primary.  If Mary's brother has insurance (not likely), his insurance would be excess.

You are correct.  What Mary's brother did is against the law and he will be ticketed/fined.
