State Exam

Hey Folks,

I passed the state exam today. After looking at previous post of others who've taken the exam and after taking the exam myself, it appears the consensus is Statutes have about 40-50 questions on the exam. another good chunk of the exam I took was from chapters 3-8 with some bond questions as well, make sure to also know general policy terms and the structure of a policy, they showed up quit a bit on the exam (i.e. Dec page, conditions, etc). I printed out a PDF exam outline directly from the Pearson Vue website (https://www.asisvcs.com/publications/pdf/121003.pdf) and reviewed and made sure I knew and understood line by line everything on there. If you can go through the outline and have a solid understanding of all thats on there, you should be fine.

I recommend focusing time studying straight from the book. Another HUGE help was using the Andy Beverly Insurance School flash cards. I bought them for $45 dollars, and they were well worth it! They include around 400 cards/multiple choice questions that cover everything you need to know and the exam even had a few questions that almost mirrored questions I had on the flashcards.

I hope this may help anyone who's still studying towards the 2-20. Believe for you all the best!

Hi, Jentel

I took the state exam twice and can't seem to pass. I study for at least 5 hours a day. I read the book and also use the this course as practice. Where can I purchase the flashcards?

Jentel,

You can find flashcards online by searching for "P&C flashcards".   FAIA publishes the state study manual and they have flashcards available for purchase at www.faia.com. under educational materials.
