After working on this for several hours, I failed the course first attempt by getting a 68%. There were a couple questions that I felt were not covered in either the online course or the book. Has anyone else failed the course final exam? Any tips?

David,

Do you remember the questions that you felt weren't covered in either the course or the state manual?  Please let me know the topics that you found hardest to answer.

Well I took the test a second time after reviewing the material I missed. I got a 94 the second time around. However, there were a couple questions that I had difficulty with

The first one was covered in the book but I still chose the iccorect answer.

A Business Auto Policy (BAP) covers all of the following except:
Choose one answer.
A. A private passenger automobile owned by corporation Incorrect
B. A pickup truck Incorrect
C. A truck crane Correct
D. A semi-trailer Incorrect

I chose pick up because traditionally, a pick up would fall under a PAP, not a buisness policy. I'm still a little confused on this one because a truck crane, like a phone utility truck with a crane is a moving whicle that can travel on public roads. It is a commercail vehicle. So I'm still unsure why this one was wrong.

I would also look out for questions regarding perils for farm animals as topic is not covered in either the book or the manual. I think this has been corrected so you should not see any questions on the course final regarding this. Hope this helps!

Test questions and answers are based on the material in the state study manaul.

The state manual defines the kinds of vehicles covered under a BAP.  Private passenger vehicles, pick-up trucks and semi-trailers are listed specifically as covered under a BAP.  There is no mention of a truck crane in the list of covered vehicles.  There may be coverage for phone utility trucks with crane attachments, but the state manual does not recognize this.  Coverage for these types of vehicles would depend on the company being asked to insure them because this is not specified in teh general definition.
