Introduction and Unit 1

Completion requirements
View

Many people who currently hold a Customer Service Representative License are interested in obtaining a General Agents License but are working full time and cannot arrange their lives to sit in a classroom. The 40-hour Conversion Course was designed with these busy, self-motivated individuals in mind. This course allows people with a current 4-40 license to convert their license to a 2-20 General Lines Agent License by completing a 40-hour course and passing the state licensing exam.

The study process is simple. You should be able to complete the course in three months (your individual college may have set a different requirement for finishing the course). You will need to study approximately 3 hours 3 days a week (9 hours per week) in order to complete the course within the three month time limit.

Each Unit starts with 1 or more lessons.  Most pages in a lesson will contain testable content, and there will also be pages with questions about previous lesson content.   Many of the questions in each Lesson (not quizzes) are short answer questions.  We use them because they are better at helping you remember what you are learning than Multiple choice or True/False questions.

The classroom software is sensitive. If the software doesn't recognize your answer due to spelling, capitalization or punctuation differences (or extra spaces), you will be asked to compare your answer to the correct answer.  This does not always mean that you gave a completely wrong answer.  We will tell you what answer we consider correct.  Please compare the two answers and then use our answer.  You are also likely to be sent back to re-read the content and re-answer the question if the computer doesn't like your answer.  Please try to be precise as precision will help in your new career.

Some question will be accompanied by a note that clarifies how an answer should be given in order for it to be marked as correct.

The Lessons’ response to your answer are frequently accompanied by “Notes” and/or “Remembers” that share information related to the question and answer or give a hint for the next question.

At the end of each unit, you will be given a multiple-choice exam. Our experience indicates you should strive for a 90% grade on each of the Unit exams. The 90% grade average will help insure that you pass the Final Exam at the end of the Course. You can take the Unit exams as many times as you need to in order to achieve this score. The computer will retain your highest score for each quiz.

You will be required to pass final examination upon the completion of the 17 units. Your average scores for the unit exams and your final examination score will be averaged. You must have a final course averaged score of 70% to receive your Certificate of Completion. Upon passing the course, your Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you.

In order to pass the State Exam, you must take the test seriously and you must study the entire Florida Manual.

The following question is a review of the content on this page. Answer it and then click below to check your response. (There will be more questions following this page.)

How long should it take to complete this course?
